With the festive season upon us I always like to feature some of the great ideas for vegetarian foodie celebrations. These featured products can be found instore at Fresh Choice Nelson on Collingwood Street.
Matt’s Flatts Vegetable Snacks
Delicious NZ made, wheat free, vegan, vegetable-based crackers are gently dehydrated to maintain their wholefood goodness. Flavours include Beetroot and Hazlenut, Mexican Spicy Tomato and Red Capsicum. Serve with a dip made from 1 (drained) can of white beans blended until smooth with the juice of 1 lemon, 1/2 C olive oil, 1 tsp finely diced fresh rosemary, 1 tsp salt and 1 tbsp of tahini.
Calbee Harvest Snaps, Baked Pea Crisps
Dangerously addictive these tasty numbers are made from wholesome green peas and are certified GF and nonGMO. These are perfect to take on tramps as they are super lightweight.
These mouthwatering crackers are made right here in Nelson. Made from peanuts, sunflower and sesame seeds they are great on platters and go particularly well with cheese and sundried tomatoes.
I Love Pies, Lentil Mince and Cheese Vegan Party Pies
These mini pies can be found in the frozen section. They are made with coconut oil pastry. You can bake them from frozen and serve with a hearty tomato relish.
