The Government has announced New Zealand will transition to Alert Level 2 at 11.59 pm on Wednesday, 13th May. Some of you may be wondering how that affects your supermarket shopping experience. So, we thought we’d bring you another weekly update.
Fresh Choice Supermarket Shopping @ Alert Level 2:
Keeping you safe:
We’ve kept this important factor at the beginning of our bulletin because it’s important for you to know that very little will change in store in regard to the additional health and safety measures we have in place.
- Our entrance will still be monitored to limit foot traffic inside the store.
- Social distancing rules and guidelines will continue to be upheld both in-store and while queueing outside.
- We’ll also continue to sanitise trollies, baskets, and hard surfaces. Trollies and baskets between each customer and hard-surfaces every twenty minutes.
- Bulk-bin products and bakery items will continue to be pre-packed at Alert Level 2.
Time for a coffee:
Many of you will be pleased to know that our Espresso Bar is open! While you queue for your brew please observe the social distancing markers both outside and inside the store. You can also order your takeaway coffee by texting ahead on 021 064 2266. All our coffee is currently being served in disposable cups, we’re unable to fill your keep-cups at the moment, but we’ll let you know as soon as this changes. Wherever possible please pay for your coffee via contactless payWave.
Lucky Lotto:
Our in-store Lotto counter will reopen as we transition to Alert Level 2. Again, please observe the social distancing markers if you find yourself in a queue for your Lotto tickets.
Shopping Online:
We can now usually offer both delivery slots and Click & Collect slots within 6-8 hours of order placement!
We are still reserving some spaces for those in our community who are most in need. If you are in the vulnerable or ‘at risk’ category and need extra help please contact Dean directly by email – Email Dean.
Online Ordering Top Tip: Wherever possible please allow our experienced pickers to select substitutions. If we feel that a substitution might be outside the scope of your original order, we’ll always give you a call to clarify whether you’d like the alternative product.
Stock Levels:
You may still find the occasional “Out of Stock” item, but if we don’t have a specific brand of a particular item, you should generally be able to substitute with an alternative. Rest assured, we continue to work with all our suppliers on improving stock levels.
Caring for the Community:
This month we’ve donated $1000 to the Nelson Food Bank. We know that some of you will want to give too. As you are shopping in store keep an eye for the shelf signs we’ve added. We’ve marked the products that are in short supply at the Food Bank, so you can be sure your dollars are spent well. You can place your donations, all gratefully received, in the trolley at the front of the store.
Once again, we want to thank you for supporting our business and continuing to visit us for your supermarket shopping. As we transition to Alert Level 2 please continue to observe all the additional Heath & Safety measures in place. Finally, please message us (through our Facebook page) if you have any other questions you need answering.
