Christmas and New Year simply demand celebrating with bubbly wine, whether it be French Champagne or a sparkling wine from another part of the world.
Both celebrations are just a few weeks away so now is the time to think about what you will be drinking with your Christmas dinner or to ring in the New Year.
There are some great deals on offer in store, we buy the best sparkling wines in bulk to get the best prices, and we pass them on to you. Whether it is time for you to treat yourself to premium bubbles or to stock the fridge in time for visitors to arrive, we have something on our shelves to suit your taste and budget.
From the incredibly great value and reliable Lindauer range of New Zealand made sparkling wines from $10.00 a bottle to a premium French Champagne like Moet Chandon NV (Non Vintage) for $50 or for a real treat try the 2006 vintage Moet Chandon for a steal at $105.
Let’s not forget local sparkling wines because there are a huge range in store including Cloudy Bay NV, Cloudy Bay 2008 Vintage, Huia Brut 2009 and Nautilus Cuvee Brut NV to name a few.
I think the best value sparkling wine on the shelf is the Aimery Grand Cuvee 1531 from the Limoux region in France, not a champagne but a beautiful wine, especially the delicate salmon pink coloured rose. Slightly fruitier than the white version and with an incredibly delicate mousse texture and a dry finish this is a very sophisticated sparkling wine for a mere $21.99.
Whatever you choose to drink this Christmas and New Year please do so responsibly; we wish you a safe and happy holiday season.
